Still at Large

Mom's camera is still at large, but she found a not-yet-posted photo that will hopefully appease my public until more new photos can be taken. This is me waiting in mom and dad's bedroom for the furniture to arrive on moving day. That's mom's foot. She'd like to thank Pop for giving her such lovely feet and toes.

Don't Give Up on Us Just Yet

I apologize for the dearth of posts recently, but mom has misplaced her camera (big surprise, right?). We will resume posting adorable pictures of me as soon as it has been located.

Sincerely,

The Management

Walkin' in Memphis

Yesterday I took my first trip to Memphis to see Kelly. She took us to Rendezvous for barbeque, and then we went to Wild Oats to pick up some groceries since there aren't any natural food stores in our town.

While we were hanging out at Kelly's I had a little bit of a meltdown. I was pretty much inconsolable for about fifteen minutes. I wasn't going to let on what the problem was, but mom figured it out anyway...I cut my first tooth!

There is no photo evidence yet. No way I'm letting anyone near my mouth!

Simple Math

If x=the number of days between my conception and my birth

and y=the number of days between my birth and now,

then x=y.

I've been out as long as I was in!

In other news, I went for my nine-month checkup the other day. I weigh 20 lbs, 8 oz., I'm 28.5 inches long, and my head is 18.7 inches in circumference (yes, it's still in the 90th percentile).

I am SO BIG!

How I Spent My Summer Vacation OR I Think We've Finally Landed

As promised before, here are pictures of our move.
We left our house on a Monday and made it all the way to the mall, less than a mile from our house, before we felt the need to crash for the night. But the next morning we got up and drove all the way to my great-grandmother's house. She even got to hold me for a few minutes before I wiggled away to go exploring.

After spending the night there, we headed down to Pop's house where we stayed for several nights while waiting to close on our house. We had lots of fun shopping for appliances, and Pop even took me strolling around the neighborhood!

One day mom took me over to Gran's house and she took me swimming. I've decided that I really enjoy swimming, and I really enjoy Gran, too.
While I was staying at Pop's house, I got to see my friend Amanda again. The first time I met her I was just six weeks old, so I don't remember much. But now I have only two words to say about her: Pretty Girl!

So that's it. We finally made it. I'm glad to be in my own bed in my own room. Hopefully it'll stay that way for awhile.

Is That Joshua?

It seems I've created quite a name for myself here in my new hometown.

Today I was at the bank with mom and dad. They were doing boring things so I was climbing on dad and looking over his shoulder at what was happening over at the teller windows. Suddenly I saw someone I knew! She yelled, "Is that Joshua?" You should have seen the look and mom and dad's faces.

It turns out that I met the girl a few months ago while we were staying at the university and looking for houses. We only spent a few minutes together, but apparently it was memorable for her.

I can't wait to make more friends!

New Friends!

These are my new friends Sydney and David! They came to visit me for two whole days, and boy do they know how to have fun! We played with my dinosaur, David let me pull on his hair, Sydney spun me around in a chair...it was just too much, I tell you. I hope I get to see them again soon!

My Best Aunt Kelly!

I had my first post-move visitors today! My best aunt Kelly* is clerking for a judge in Memphis this year, so she's going to be my new neighbor. She drove all the way out to have dinner with me tonight. It was the first time I've been able to meet her, but I think we're going to be good friends. She even brought her puppy for me to play with!

*Don't hurt yourself trying to figure out whose sister Kelly is. She's not really my aunt. She just lets me call her that.
