Christmas, Part I

I guess you've been wondering where I've been since I bought my Christmas tree. I've been here and there, mostly here, but ALL busy!! I guess I should start by showing you my decorated Christmas tree.
Here's my tree and my dad. Dad's ready to go to his first commencement exercises as a professor, so mom wanted a picture of him in his regalia. Unfortunately, the camera makes his robe look blue. Really, it's Northwestern purple. Oh, well. But what you're really supposed to be looking at is the tree. It looks lopsided, I know, but that's because the trunk has a little hitch in it halfway up. It was really quite stable and stood up to all my poking and picking (which is why the part I can reach is decorated only with cloth ornaments).
The next week my Grandmommy and Grandpa Bernheisel and Aunt Lee came to visit. Aunt Lee's present to us was to take down the wallpaper in the dining room. I got to help. They were impressed, although they shouldn't have been surprised since I mastered the fine art of shredding months ago.

I have to go to bed now. I'll post more about my Christmas later!

Farm Life

I took mom and dad to a Christmas tree farm this weekend so they could buy me my first tree! It's not my first Christmas, of course, but it's my first live tree. I insisted they get a live one so that they could plant it and we could all remember my first Christmas in our new house.
We decided on this place because the nice owner said he'd dig one up for us so we could keep the roots.
That was all fine, but here's what I really wanted to see. A mule!
And because they knew I was coming they brought out the dog, too! Christmas trees are fun and all, but the mules and puppies are where it's at!
