Kochen mit Vati

On most mornings, Vati gets me up and I bring a few friends and books to the living room. Sometimes we read, sometimes we play with Klotzen (blocks), and sometimes I perform a cabinet inventory, but that usually only distracts me for a little while. I have a big appetite in the morning, and Vati always makes breakfast.
I like to be as close to the action as possible. So I bring Vati my Baby Björn from the desk chair.
He usually cooks Eier (eggs), Hafer (oatmeal), and a Pfannkuch (pancake). Sometimes he gives me some Pfannkuch. It's my favorite. I'm also a big fan of Pawn Haas (scrapple), but we haven't had any of that since shortly after Na-Na and Pop-Pop came to visit all the way from Pennsylvania.

Here's the pancake recipe as near as I can tell, since Vati never measures anything:
2 eggs
Buttermilk
- Beat together
Oat flour, buckwheat flour, rye flour, sorghum flour, and/or whole wheat flour (rarely)
Baking Soda
Cinnamon
Ginger
- Add and mix thoroughly
- Cook over medium heat turning once

Decorating

Mom and Dad painted the dining room this crazy shade of red the other day. I decided it needed some silver as well, so I pulled out all I could and tried to arrange it fashionably. What do you think?

Just a Smile

I hear mom's been taking some heat because she hasn't updated my site lately. So here I am! I was at a restaurant chowing down on some soup and rice when mom decided to capture the moment! She promises she'll do better.

Hey, Buddy!

Look what came in the mail for me today! My Granmommy and Aunt Lee have been hard at work in the Build-A-Bear workshop making Buddy the Bunny for me! I haven't slept without him since he showed up on my doorstep! Thank you!
